BUBBLE SHELF COMPREHENSIVE!!!

Cela Fait Longtemps! Its been a while!

I have a bad brain and forgot to post, so here's a week by week play by play!

WEEK I

The Group bounced around several Ideas for furniture, such as hanging pieces, and monkey themed pieces. The group ended up deciding on a shelf for the thing tank. I unfortunately couldn't contribute much, but I promised to code whatever they decided on in grasshopper.

WEEK II

The rest of the group made preliminary models for our shelving unit, Then we discussed and isolated the best traits from the models for the Final.

WEEK III

Here we go, this is my week to shine. I wrote a grasshopper code to mimic, and randomize, Jessica's bubble shelf model, and incorporate David's removable shelves, as well as dowels for assembly.

Here is the code breakdown.

***FINAL CODE WAS LEFT AT SCHOOL SO SOME BREAKS ARE VISIBLE THAT WERE RESOLVED***

Big mess, Love it to bits

Here is a code determining the large 3 stagnant bubbles that will make up the majority of the shape

This code determines the smaller, random bubbles that will intersect with the big ones

This code takes the bubble shapes and cuts them out of the mass of the shelf

This code sets up the contours, caps, and shape selection to get the final form, also draws and cuts shelves.

This code allows hand placement of dowels, and cuts holes out of the form for the dowels

WEEK IV

I fixed issues with measurements and code, got the final models out for cutting prep, handled by other members. I also went out and bought stain for our final assembly, the cost was split between us.

We started cutting as well!

Jessica also made some renders for us! Here are some now.

WEEK V

All pieces are cut, ready to sand and assemble!

Images of final assembly coming soon!!!
